Playdough mats have long been one of my favorite quick, low prep activities for preschoolers and kindergartners.
They can be made to work with every theme, season, and holiday imaginable and kids can work on so many different concepts and skills while they’re using them.
Besides the basic ones like colors and shapes, they’ll also have the opportunity to work on fine motor skills, handwriting, vocabulary, and more!

Prepping and Using this Fall Activity
Getting these fall playdough mats ready for your students is an absolute breeze!
You’ll just need to print them off, cut them in half as they print two to a page, and run them through your laminator.
When you’re all done, you’ll have 10 brand new fall playdough mats for your students to choose from!
Pair them with your favorite playdough (grab our color surprise playdough recipe to really wow your students) and they’re ready to go!
Once they’ve chosen a picture to create, they’ll strengthen their fine motor skills, work on hand-eye coordination, and enhance their vocabularies as they squish and mold the playdough, build their picture, and name the fall item.
And to finish it off, they can work on their handwriting skills and their pencil grasp as they trace the name of the item with a dry erase marker!
