Almost a year ago, back at the beginning of the last school year, we created our own home preschool calendar board.
We loved it back then and we still love and use it today. In fact, it has become the very first thing we pull out when we start our home preschool day.
The kids have a ton of fun moving around the magnetic pieces and love adding a new number to the calendar section each day. The only problem we’ve had with it, is that after months of using our school supply calendar pieces, we all started getting a little bored.
Don’t get me wrong! They’re great and we still love them, just not for every month of the year.
So this year, we’re shaking things up a bit and have decided to change out the pieces, at least in the calendar section, with the various months/seasons of the year.
Now, of course, we could have started off with an apple or even a leaf theme seeing as how the month of September generally signifies the start of fall, but we decided to take a bit of a different direction.
Since we all seem to be at our freshest and feeling our most creative right at the beginning of a new school year, we decided that we wanted something a little bit more fun, something to inspire a little more of that creativity.
And I have to say, I think this paint themed calendar set is doing just that!
We changed out the entire thing (the calendar section at least) with a fun new paint themed month card for the month of September, added new days of the week in a rainbow of colors, and of course, I can’t forget the new set of numbers!
Obviously, for September, there are 30 and each one is made to look like an adorable paint palette!
Once I cut the pieces out and laminated them, I just added Velcro the backs of each one and we’re ready to ring in the new school year with a little bit of paint :)
They all fit right onto our already made calendar board and I love that while we can start enjoying a new theme, I can also reuse them year after year!
