If there was ever a snack that my kids loved more than any other, it would be popcorn.
My oldest, in particular, has had a bit of an obsession with this salty snack for a couple of years now and will take it pretty much any way he can get it.
Plain, buttered, or flavored, he hasn’t turned down an offering of popcorn yet.
We’ve tried and tested quite a few different recipes and we’ve made our cookies and cream popcorn more than once, but with Valentine’s Day coming up, we knew we were going to want something a little extra special.
If you’re a fan of the salty/sweet combo, you’re going to absolutely love this quick and easy snack. And the kids? They’ll love getting to help you make it!
Feeling adventurous? Let the kids make it all by themselves! This recipe is that easy :)
First things first, you’ll want to gather up your ingredients. You’ll need:
- 10 cups Unflavored Popcorn (lightly salted if desired)
- 1 cup Pink Candy Melts
- 4 tsp. Vegetable Oil
- 1 1/2 cups Miniature Marshmallows
- Valentine Sprinkles
Once you’ve got your ingredients together, set them aside and grab a large cookie sheet and cover the entire thing with aluminum foil.
Not only will this keep your popcorn from sticking, but it will make cleanup a breeze!
Microwave your pink candy melts for about two minutes, or until they are fully melted, stirring every thirty seconds or so.
Mix in the vegetable oil, a little at a time, and stir until the mixture is thin enough to drizzle.
Using a fork or a spoon, drizzle a layer of pink chocolate onto the lined cookie sheet.
Pour a think layer of popcorn over top of the chocolate, pressing down lightly, and then top the popcorn with a layer of miniature marshmallows.
Drizzle the remaining chocolate over the top and immediately add your sprinkles so that they’ll stick to the chocolate before it hardens.
Allow the chocolate to harden completely before scooping the finished popcorn into a large bowl.
Finally, pop in your favorite family-friendly Valentine’s Day movie, grab a bowl, and enjoy!
