From jingle bells to red-nosed reindeer, the holiday season is officially upon us and what better way to celebrate the season of all things merry and bright than with some fun Christmas themed math and literacy centers for your kindergarteners!
Christmas Math and Literacy Centers
We had so much fun with the candy corn themed centers that we made for Halloween that I decided to come up with some new ones that would allow us to continue practicing some of these early math and literacy skills through Christmas and I am so excited with how they turned out.
What’s Included
Within this set, you’ll find six different math and literacy centers, more than 90 pages total!
Christmas Light CVC Words
The first is a set of Christmas light CVC words.
Cut the light bulbs out, both the set with pictures and the set with letters (both upper and lowercase are included), and use the included light string mat to build your CVC words.
Gingerbread Tracing Cards
The next two sets that you’ll find are gingerbread tracing cards. The first set includes both upper and lowercase letters and the second includes numbers 1-20.
Just print, cut each page in half, and laminate. Use with dry erase markers so that you can reuse them over and over again.
Number Sense Christmas Trees
After the gingerbread men, you’ll find our number sense Christmas trees.
These, like the others, are super easy to put together.
Simply print out the Christmas tree number mats (numbers 1-10) and then print and cut the various ornaments.
Have your child match the ornaments to their corresponding number tree, counting as they go.
Rhyming Word Christmas Trees
The rhyming word Christmas trees are the same except that instead of matching numbers, your child will be matching objects that rhyme with the object that is on each of their Christmas tree mats.
Ten Frame Christmas Tree Puzzles
Next up are the ten frame Christmas trees. This set is probably my personal favorite as we really like puzzles here in our house and these are just so much fun.
Print them out, they come in both color and black and white versions, cut each tree into three pieces and then have your child put them back together by matching the numeral, the ten frame, and the number word.
ALSO AVAILABLE IN OUR TPT STORE
Word Family Christmas Cookies
Finally, the last set that you’ll find is the word family Christmas cookies.
Each “set” includes a word family spatula and four ornament shaped Christmas cookies with pictures that fit that word family.
Just print them out, cut them out, laminate for durability, and pair them with a cookie sheet for even more hands-on fun.
All your child has to do is match the cookies to the correct spatula.
