With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, it’s time to start looking for Valentine ideas if you haven’t already!
Yes, we still have a couple of weeks until the actual holiday, but all of the fun ideas that have been running through my head just won’t wait any longer so today, I’ve got a super fun printable for you that will make giving candy free valentines a lot easier!
Why candy free? Well, in our house, we have quite a few food allergies to contend with on a daily basis and it seems as though most of those valentine themed treats that you find in the store contain at least one ingredient (if not more) that would cause a bit of a stir.
So, this year, we’re opting out of the sugar filled goodies and replacing them with something that both of my kids love. Puzzles!
These valentines are super easy to put together and you can find pretty much everything that you need in your local dollar store!
Give them out to friends, family members, classmates, whoever you like!
To make a few of your own, you’ll need:
- Small puzzles
- Ribbon
- Hole punch
- Scissors
- Printable puzzle piece valentines (found below)
Start by printing off and cutting out your valentines. The download below contains 4 printable Valentine cards per page.
You can cut them out to create a watercolor card like in the photo above or your could make it a bit easier on yourself and cut them a little wider leaving a white outline.
Most importantly though, you’ll want to print these off on card stock or other thick, durable paper so that you don’t have to worry so much about ripping them as you’re cutting them out and putting them together.
Once they’re cut out, just punch a hole in one corner, grab some ribbon, and attach them to your puzzle boxes.
Your kids are sure to love them and if your household or your children’s classroom has some of the same allergy issues that we do, you can feel good about giving them.
