Although it doesn’t feel a whole lot like winter here anymore, what with the little snow that we did get already melted and gone and high temperatures for this weekend in the mid 60s, we’re trying to keep a little bit of our winter learning going.
We started off learning about mittens and other cold weather clothing items (not something we wear a lot of down here in the south) with our summer and winter clothing sort and this week, decided to continue that with few rounds of memory.
Winter mitten memory to be exact.
My oldest has loved playing memory/matching games for as long as I can remember. It doesn’t matter what kind of cards they are, he just loves flipping them all over and finding a matching pair.
Since we have done so many of these games though, I wanted to try to find a way to make it a bit more difficult for him, give him a challenge but still keep it fun.
Well, we accomplished that with this one! This printable memory game can be played just like any other. Just flip the cards over and let each player take a turn.
Once they find a match, they keep it and take another turn.
Or, if you’re looking to make it more of a challenge, pair the mittens that have the same design but different colors.
Within the printable pages there are 3 sets of mitten designs in 3 different colors, so there are plenty of combinations that you could easily create to add a little more difficulty to the game.
Use all of the cards or start with just one set of colored mittens at a time. The choice is yours :)
