Whether you’ve been working on numbers with your toddler or preschooler for a while now or are just getting started, finding new ways to practice counting and keep it fun is essential to keeping your little one engaged and learning. With this printable turkey feather matching game, you can quickly and easily give your little one multiple ways to practice not only their counting skills but also recognizing number words and more, all while enjoying a fun Thanksgiving themed activity before the big day.
These adorable little turkeys make a great practice activity and are so easy to set up and leave out for your preschooler to return to again and again.
The printable set includes a set of turkeys with the numbers 1-10 written out on them. You’ll also find within the download, that each turkey has five feathers for your child to match.
While matching these colorful feathers, they’ll work on recognizing the number itself and associating it with the word, counting dots and tally marks, seeing the number in a ten frame and split on a domino as well.
Multiple ways to count and practice their number skills, all with a single activity!
Just print the pages off, cut the turkeys and their matching feathers out, laminate if you choose, and set them out. Your kids are going to love figuring out which feathers belong to which turkey!
Finally, while this particular download includes the numbers 1-10, I know that many of you are working on numbers beyond that and we have even used them to practice higher numbers as well, so within the printable you’ll find two turkeys as well as two sets of feathers that are all blank so you can write in your own numbers as well.
Print off a few sets to practice multiple sets of numbers or just print off the two blank sets that are included, laminate them, and reuse them over and over again by using a dry erase marker. Either way, your kids are going to love them!
