If there is one thing that my kids love, and I do mean love, it’s books. My youngest especially could spend her entire day looking through picture books and pretending to read a few of her favorite stories.
Just give her a stack of books and she is a happy girl. Her older brother loves a good story as well, but has recently gotten more and more into making things of his own.
To include them both, we combined the best of both of those worlds, added in a few farm animals since we’ve been learning all about those lately, threw in a little early math practice and made a farm animal counting book of our very own.
If your kids like coloring books at all, they are going to love this particular book!
Practicing numbers 1-10, this printable counting book includes lots of different animals from around the farm and after counting the number of animals on each page, there is a space for your child to practice writing their numbers in as well.
To assemble the book, simply print out the free printable pages (found below), cut each one in half along the solid black line, place them in order with the title page first, and staple them together.
From there just count and color!
Making this fun counting book couldn’t be easier and yet your toddlers and preschoolers can practice naming animals, counting, handwriting, early literacy skills, and even making animal noises to match those on the pages if you’d like.
Even better, once you’ve finished your books, hang on to them so you can pull them out and read them over and over again!
