To me, apples just scream fall. The smell of apples and cinnamon in the air is the same as seeing all of the colorful leaves falling to the ground. Now, these sight word apples won’t carry that same fall scent, but they will make working on sight words with your kindergartner a lot of fun!
Getting Ready
Getting your sight word matching game ready to play is super easy. Just print, cut, and play.
If you don’t mind the extra step, you can also laminate them for durability.
Apple Sight Word Matching Game
Once all of your pieces are ready, you’re ready to play!
To start, lay each of the cards out, face down, on either the floor or a table and have your child choose one. After they’ve picked a card, have them try to read the sight word that is printed on the apple.
When they’ve figured out the word, have them pick a second card, reading that one as well to see if the two that they picked are a match.
If they match, have them hold onto their cards, if not, lay them back down, face down, and try again.
Included in this pack are 25 pairs of sight words for your child to try to match, so they’ll have plenty of practice.
You can lay out all 25 pairs at once or start with just a few at a time. However you play, I hope you and your little ones enjoy!
