In case you haven’t noticed, we love clip cards around here.
They’re such an easy center to prep and the kids all love using them.
So, we break them out as often as we can and use them to work on everything from math concepts like counting and money to literacy skills like beginning and ending sounds.
These ladybug position word clip cards are no different and I can already tell that we’ll be using these more and more and Spring approaches.
Whether you’ve been working on position words for a while now and just need a little extra practice or you’re introducing them for the first time, these ladybug position word clip cards are a great way to get your kids excited about the concept.
Spring-Themed Position Word Clip Cards
Position words can be tricky for some kids with these words easily getting lost in the shuffle as they learn to read full sentences.
With these clip cards though, they’ve got an easy, hands-on way to practice a few of them.
This set of clip cards, in particular, includes the words:
- behind
- inside
- front
- under
- between
- out
- top
- on
Each card contains a simple sentence describing where, in relation to the leaf, the ladybug should be and you’ll find that each of the position words within these sentences is highlighted.
Just print them off, cut them out, and run them through your laminator for durability.
Set them out with a set of clothespins or even colored paperclips and have your kids work their way through, matching the position of the ladybug to where the red position word tells them it should be.
If they’re still in need of some more practice when they’re done with these, try having them stand up and use themselves and a ball, or another object, to practice the words that they just worked on with these cards.
