If there is one thing that my kids love above all else when it comes to toys, it’s play dough. They could play with it for hours and still not get bored.
Fortunately, it’s an easy to clean up activity that requires almost no prep at all so it’s one that we partake in often.
While they enjoy building and sculpting, I think I actually enjoy creating fun play dough mats for them even more and these were no exception! Now, I know that Christmas is still like 40 some days away, but these adorable gingerbread play dough mats were actually made right before Christmas last year and we just ran out of time to use them.
This year however, we’ve already busted them out and have been enjoying them for days!
Using those little fingers to mold and shape their play dough pieces gives those small motor muscles a fantastic fine motor workout and I mean, who wouldn’t want to decorate their very own gingerbread boy (or girl)?
They’re super easy to use, and even better, you can reuse them as many times as you want!
Just download the printable play dough mats below (you’ll find both a gingerbread boy and a girl), laminate the pages, and break out the play dough!
Make faces and buttons, whatever you and your little ones think that a gingerbread boy needs!
