It may seem like the heat of summer will never end, but here in just a few short weeks, the crisp coolness of fall will start to move in.
As the temperatures start to drop and the leaves start to change color, this fall leaf letter matching activity will make the perfect addition to your literacy centers!
You’ll practice some letter recognition while learning to recognize those same letters in various different fonts as well!
All the way from A to Z, all 26 letters of the alphabet are included in this literacy set and each letter comes in 6 different fonts.
Just print the pages out, cut, laminate, and you’re ready to go!
If your child is just starting to recognize all of their letters, start out using only two or three of the letter cards.
All they need to do is find the same letters to make a match.
If they’ve got a little bit of letter recognition practice under their belt, go ahead and have them try to match all 6 versions of each letter before moving on to the next.
To make it even more fun, try hiding some of the cards around the room (in obvious places) and have them go around gathering their letter cards before matching the letters to see if they were able to find them all.
When you’re all done with the cards for that particular day and ready to put them away, we love storing them in these handy pencil boxes!
They’re super easy to stack for storage and make fantastic center boxes!
