If you’ve been a reader for any length of time, you know just how much we love getting the kids in the kitchen. Creating delicious treats while practicing life skills at the same time, it’s a win-win!
With Easter right around the corner and M&M’s® Crispy making a comeback, it seemed like the perfect opportunity to get the little ones involved in making a treat that’s a little bit of a throwback to my own childhood.
That’s right folks! M&M’s® Crispy are back by popular demand and they make the perfect addition to this fun snack!
In fact, when we stumbled upon them in our local CVS a few days ago, I knew we needed to find a way to work them in. I mean, what’s not to love! A crispy, crunchy rice center covered in delicious milk chocolate, yes please! Grab a small bag and enjoy a sweet treat right now or go for the larger bag and create an amazing new recipe creation of your own!
To make it truly Easter worthy, we added a few extra special touches including some fun edible grass and a few crispy, crunchy Easter eggs :) And while it was initially made with the kids in mind, I would be lying if I said that mommy and daddy didn’t enjoy it as well.
And the best part of this whole recipe is that it’s so simple, the kids can help you make it!
To make your own, you’ll need:
- Instant chocolate pudding
- Chocolate sandwich cookies
- M&M’s® Crispy candies
- Green candy melts (usually found in the baking aisle)
- Any other fun Easter add-ons you like!
First things first, make your pudding according to the package instructions and while that is setting up, crush your cookies and chop up your candy melts. Just cut them into strips so that they’ll look like grass when you add them to your dirt cup.
Once your pudding is set, add it right to your cup. Make sure you leave plenty of space at the top to add your other decorations.
Once your cookies are all crushed up, add those on top to resemble the dirt in your dirt cup.
For the final layer, add your chopped up candy melts on top. You don’t need a lot, just enough to make it look like grass.
Now for the fun part :) Grab your crispy candies (they make perfect Easter eggs!) and any other Easter themed decorations you’d like to add and get decorating. The kids will love this part and when you’re done, you’ll have a delicious treat that the whole family is going to love!
Ready to make your own? Why not save a little money while you’re at it! Grab yourself a $1 off coupon from CVS before heading out!
