Whether you’re simply working on introducing and counting coins with your child, or they’re starting to earn and save their own money, learning the value of each coin is an essential math skill and learning to add them together even more so.
Once they’ve grasped the basic concepts like the name of each coin and what each coin is worth, the obvious next step is to have them start adding their coins together to see how much money they have in total.
These printable coin count and clip cards, they can easily practice or review counting coins and adding those values together.
The best part about these fun clip cards is that they’re super simple to use and won’t take you a lot of time to prep.
Supplies Needed for Coin Counting Clip Cards:
- The printable count and clip cards (below)
- Card stock
- Laminator
- Clothespins, paper clips, or binder clips
To Use:
Once you’ve printed the coin counting clip cards off on card stock, cut them out and laminate them for durability.
Using a clip of some sort, have your child count the coins and clip the correct value on each card. Easy as that!
Don’t have any clothespins on hand? That’s okay! Go ahead and laminate each of your cards and then simply have your child circle the correct value using a dry erase marker. When you’re all done, just wipe them clean and save them for later review.
