Christmas is such a magical holiday for kids all by itself, but you can add a little magic of your own to the season with this printable Christmas flashlight card memory game!
Just like the real presents that they’ll find underneath the Christmas tree, what’s inside these printable presents is a mystery. Until you add the magic of a flashlight that is!
Christmas is Coming ‘Round the Corner
Christmas is always a hectic time in our household, and I don’t think this year will be any different. In our house, I know that my kids get antsy and excited about all the presents and cookies and the festivities. The best way to combat this crazy time is to keep them busy.
These flashlight cards are a great way to not only keep the kids entertained but work those brain muscles as memory games are a great way to improve focus, attention, and concentration.
With the Christmas flashlight memory card game kids can have fun working those brains and getting away with sneaking a peek at those coveted Christmas presents.
Using the Christmas Flashlight Cards
For this set, children will use the presents as memory matching cards but will need to use a flashlight to determine whether or not they found a match.
Like our habitat flashlight cards, these Christmas flashlight cards are super easy to prep.
Just print them off, cut them out, and run them through your laminator. Then, all you have to do is grab your flashlight to sneak a peek in the presents.
Printing Tip: These cards must be printed on both the front and the back to work. Choose to print on both sides of the paper and flip on the long edge.
Lay each of the presents out on a table or the floor, present side up, and have your children take turns picking two presents.
Instead of flipping them over to see if they found a match, however, they’ll shine a flashlight on the back of the card while looking at the front to find out what’s inside each gift and determine if they found a match.
Sneaking a Peek
I know my kids are always trying to find out what are in the boxes that are being shipped or in the bags that I try to sneak upstairs. Well, now they have a reason to look inside a few presents!.
This set includes 12 different Christmas-themed matches and each present will have a fun Christmas character or object that the kids will have to match. You can use this to keep little hands busy or have the whole family come together and play this fun memory game.
Either way, this is a great hands-on activity with such a fun twist!
