When you think of the circus, you obviously picture clowns and animals, acrobats and a ring leader. But another fun feature that you’ll find under the big top that shouldn’t be forgotten are balloons!
And no, not just the ones used to make those awesome balloon animals :)
Being right in the middle of our C is for Circus theme, we wanted to make sure that we incorporated balloons in some way.
With these bright balloon printables, we managed to do just that!
Setting up this floating color matching activity for your preschooler is super easy and if you made the circus ring toss game and saved those inner circles, half the work is already done!
If you’ve got them handy, go ahead and grab them. If not, or you need to make some, just cut out the inner circle from a few paper plates, paint them and let them dry.
Once you’ve got your circles, to put this activity together, download the printable balloons (which you can grab below) and cut them out.
To make our balloons look a little more like the real thing, we used a little bit of sticky tack to stick them to the wall and taped some ribbon on to the bottom of each balloon.
This step obviously isn’t necessary if you would prefer not to attach them to the wall :) You could easily just use them with your painted circles on the table and it would still make a fun matching game!
Again, I added a little bit of sticky tack to the back of each colored circle and then handed it over to the preschooler :)
He had so much fun matching up the colors and sticking each one of the circles to the balloons that once he was done, we took them all down and did it all over again.
When you’re finished, you’ll have some circus worthy balloons hanging on your wall and with the painted paper plates, you’ll have 2 fun circus activities that your preschooler is going to love!
