We’re continuing the back to school theme today with another fun printable set to add to your classroom decor!
Whether you’re in a classroom teaching a group of little learners or you’re at the dining room table teaching one or two of your own, this adorable alphabet pencil banner is the perfect way to decorate for the first day of school!
Around here, we always try to find a way to make the first day of school special.
Nothing crazy, just something that will make the day a little bit more exciting as we embark on a brand new year.
We’ve done special breakfasts and fun back to school themed activities in the past, but this year, I wanted to add a little bit of decoration, a little bit of flair, to our first day and this pencil banner was the perfect solution!
Each letter of the alphabet, and numbers 0-9, are included on their own pencil, so we can really make our banner say whatever it is that we would like.
We chose to mark the occasion with a “First Day of School” banner and it is so easy to put together!
Obviously, you’ll first have to print all of the pencils out.
Make sure that your print enough copies of each letter to make whatever saying you would like and start cutting them out.
If you plan to hang these up you may not need to laminate them, but we went ahead and did it anyway so that we could reuse them throughout the year if we wanted to.
Then, just set them out on a table or on the floor in the order you want them and tape a long string to the back of them.
You want your string to extend a bit on either side so that you can either tie or tape it up.
Once all of your letters are tape to the string, just hang it up and enjoy your new back to school decorations!
