The latest addition to our preschool alphabet book is here and this one could not be any easier!
They have all been so much fun to make but I don’t think they could get any simpler that this one.
When thinking of what to make for the letter N, we knew we wanted to make something for the night sky since little man has been obsessed with outer space for as long as I can remember, but we weren’t sure just how we wanted to do it.
We thought about paint and construction paper, but ultimately ended up going with the same concept that we used to make out Q-Tip x-ray craft. Chalk!
It turned out great and was a great way to practice those pre-writing strokes that we’ve been working on more and more!
You really won’t need a whole lot to make this one either. Just a few simple materials and you’re ready to get crafting!
You’ll need:
- Black and white construction paper
- A sheet of white card stock
- Scissors
- Glue
- White chalk
As always, get started by cutting out the pieces that you’ll need. If your child is old enough for scissors, this is a great opportunity to practice those scissor skills as well!
Just trace an outline for them to cut on and let them go.
From the black construction paper, cut out your uppercase letter N either with a printed template or you can freehand it, whatever works for you.
From the white, cut out a simple circle. Large or small, full or crescent moon, it doesn’t matter, but for best results, try to cut a shape that will fit on the top of your letter.
Once all of your pieces are cut, have your child glue their letter onto their sheet of card stock.
Add the moon. It just wouldn’t be a night sky picture without one :)
Finally, grab some chalk and start making stars!
Let their imaginations run wild. We ended up with little stars, big stars, X shaped stars, and even “galaxy swirls” that the 4 year old thought of all on his own. You’ll be amazed at what they come up with.
When your letter craft is all done, grab the uppercase letter N page from the bundle of interactive alphabet pages and add that to your alphabet book as well!
