I really can’t say that I understand what Mother Nature is up to these days. One day it’s super warm, the sun is shining, and it feels like Spring is finally here. The next day we’re back to cold and the wind is blowing like crazy.
One thing I can say for sure is that it has really messed with both mine and my preschooler’s allergies over the past few weeks and because of that, we’ve gotten a bit behind on getting our alphabet book crafts up.
The constant rain for the past few days though has given us a bit of a chance to get caught up, so today its back with our uppercase letter M craft!
With both of us still feeling a bit under the weather this week, we made this one pretty simple, but it was still a lot of fun to make and the little guy loved pulling all of the cotton balls to try to make the clouds.
To make this page for your own book, you’ll need:
- Blue and white construction paper
- A sheet of white card stock
- Scissors
- Glue
- Cotton balls
As always, start by cutting out your pieces. From the blue, you’ll need to cut out your uppercase letter M. You can either free hand this or print out a template to trace around.
From the white, you’ll need two triangles that you trim to fit the size of your letter M peaks.
Have your child turn their sheet of card stock sideways and glue on their letter M.
Once you’ve got that glued down, add your triangles to the tops of the letter so that they wind up looking like snow covered peaks.
You can either use the triangles that you cut out earlier as they are or you can make the bottoms a little wavy like we did, either way works just fine.
Next, give your child a few cotton balls and have show them how to gently pull on them so that they spread out a bit.
You don’t want them to be ripped to pieces because it will take you forever to glue them all on, just give them a few gentle tugs to make them look a little more like big fluffy clouds.
Glue those across the top of your “mountain” where the sky should be and you’re all done!
Finish off this section of your book with the uppercase letter M page from the bundle of interactive alphabet pages, add them to your alphabet book, and enjoy!
