Whether your child is attending a party at school or handing out their Valentines to family and friends, it’s always fun to find Valentines that fit their personality, ones that incorporate something that they love.
Nicholas has loved “doggies” for as long as I can remember and gets super excited whenever our own dog is ready to play.
So this year, we instead of spending forever trying to find Valentines that included them, we decided to try and make some of our own and so far, he loves them!
These printable Valentines for kids include some super cute puppies and you could easily include a fun treat to go with them like we did or, if you’re concerned about all of the sugar your kids will already be getting on Valentine’s Day, simply hand them out as is. Either way, you’ll have some one of a kind, super cute Valentines this year!
Making these Valentine’s was so much fun and getting Nicholas into the kitchen to help me make them treat part was even better!
We paired our Valentine’s with little bone shaped cookies and, I think, they turned out great!
We decided to take the easier route and just use a store bought cookie dough since we needed to fit it in during little sister’s naptime but we still had a ton of fun making them.
I searched locally for quite a while but could not find a bone shaped cookie cutter for our cookies so I finally turned to Amazon and they had just what we needed. In fact, they haven’t let me down yet :)
Obviously, cutting out the cookies was Nicholas’ favorite part but mommy learned a few new tricks as well!
Here’s a tip! When making cut outs with peanut butter cookie dough, put your shapes onto your cookie sheet and throw them into the freezer for 10 minutes or so before baking. This will help them retain their shape throughout baking instead of just spreading out all over your cookie sheet!
Once your cookies are all done, you’re ready to go! Have your child write their name on their Valentines (if they’re old enough to do so) and package them up however you like!
We actually put ours into clear cellophane bags and tied them off with a ribbon up top.
However you do it, you’ll have some adorable, one of a kind Valentines this year!
