Last week marked the beginning of a new adventure for little man.
Tot School!
Just in case you missed it, I gave a little tour of our teeny tiny tot school room as we prepared for this new adventure. The room is still a work in progress, but I figure as we progress throughout the year, we will find out what works best and what needs to be changed up a bit.
So, how did we break in our new play room? With red week!
Each morning, we started off by reading a new story, which Nicholas loved! (He’s gonna be a reader, just like him momma :) )
The Little Red Hen | The Seasons of Arnold’s Apple Tree | Mouse Paint | Llama Llama Red Pajama
We worked our fine motor skills with finger painting and ripping paper for a nice red apple.
We sorted through our toys to find some red ones and included them in our colored rice sensory bin!
Just a quick warning! No matter how careful you are, you will be vacuuming rice for a while. Just so you know :)
Next, we used a mommy-made file folder game to match things that are red.
Nicholas loved this activity, especially putting the pieces on and then taking them off so that he could hear the sound the Velcro made.
And finally, for our very first day of Tot School, we had a very special painting project.
All in all, I would say that our first week of Tot School was a success!
