From the time they’re very small, most young children love to build things.
Whether they’re using wooden blocks to build a tower or just stacking random objects on top of one another, they love piecing things together until they’ve built what they see within their imagination.
We’ve taken that love of building today and used it to make learning the letters of the alphabet a little bit more hands-on.
With just a few colorful Snap Cubes, you and your child can build your way through the entire uppercase alphabet!
Snap Cube Alphabet Task Cards
Just like our geoboard alphabet task cards, these Snap Cube cards make a fantastic math and literacy center!
Just print them off, cut the pages in half, and run the cards through your laminator.
Each half-page card has a single uppercase letter of the alphabet, which means that your little learners will have plenty of room to work and that the alphabet images are large enough for your child to see each of the individual Snap Cubes that are used to build the letter.
Underneath each of the letters, you’ll also notice that, again like our geoboard task cards, there is a space to write in the number of cubes that are used.
Working with these task cards will not only give your child the opportunity to work on letter recognition and formation, but also their counting skills, colors, numbers, and so much more!
Storing the Snap Cube Alphabet Task Cards
The size of these cards and the fact that they require only a few simple materials to use them means that they’re also super easy to store.
Personally, we love sticking them, along with some colorful Snap Cubes and a dry erase marker into a larger plastic pencil box.
The kids can easily pull them out and use them when they’d like and then just put all of the pieces right back into the box when they’re done.
