The back to school season is in full swing and our first week of school is already in the books.
We had a ton of fun working our way through our back to school theme and the preschooler is even more excited about school now than she was on the first day, so I’m going to call that a win.
The favorite activity that came out of the week though? A simple game of school supply I Spy!
Back to School I Spy
We had so much fun searching through the back to school pictures that she didn’t even realize that we were working on our early math skills like counting and matching.
Trying this activity out with your own preschooler is super simple.
Just print the back to school I Spy sheet out and have your child search for the items that are listed at the bottom.
When they’ve counted them all, have them practice writing numerals by writing the correct number of items on the line next to each picture.
You could even continue the game after they’re done by spreading out some real school supplies on a table or the floor and having them search through and count those.
Or, pair this with our back to school number sense activity and you’ll have your math lessons covered for your first few school days!
