The back to school season is officially here y’all! New books and pencils, new backpacks too! The school supplies are always my favorite part of the season. In fact, if you’ve ever seen me shop for new school supplies, you could easily liken it to a kid in a candy store. Yes, it’s that exciting.
So, once the back to school season officially starts, you can pretty much guarantee that I’ll be adding school supplies to all the things. This printable back to school number sense activity is no different. They may not be real, but that backpacks and pieces of notebook paper are making me giddy just looking at them!
Back to School Number Sense
From the very moment that I laid eyes on this back to school clip art, I knew what I wanted to create. The backpack and notebook paper just go so perfectly together and make working on those early math skills a ton of fun.
Included in this set are backpacks containing the number words for numbers 1-10. You’ll also find multiple sets of notebook paper “numbers.”
These notebook papers are broken up into five different sets. The first contain the numerals 1-10, the second set have tally marks for each of the numbers.
The third set shows each of the numbers within a ten frame, the fourth shows each of the numbers on dice, and the fifth has each of the numbers shown in counting fingers.
To use, simply cut them out, laminate for durability if you like, and have your child match each of the pieces of notebook paper to the correct backpack.
This printable number sense activity will show them a multitude of ways that each number can be made, will help them practice counting, and will even give them a little extra practice with recognizing number words if that’s a skill that you’re working on.
Before you know it, your kiddos will be counting pros!
