Out of all of the different printable activities that we’ve made over the past few years, I have to say that our poke pictures are my favorite.
Now, of course, our last set was fun, but personally, I think these Christmas themed poke pictures are even better!
Whether your little ones are interested in making an elf, a Christmas tree, or the big guy himself, there is something for everyone in this printable set. In fact, there are seven different holiday-themed templates to choose from!
Setting Up Your Christmas Poke Pictures
To create your own holiday poke pictures, you’ll need:
- The printable template (below)
- Construction paper
- A piece of cardboard
- Push pins
- Tape
Making Your Holiday Poke Pictures
Once you’ve downloaded and printed the templates, simply choose which one you’d like to use and tape it onto a sheet of construction paper.
Included in this set, you’ll find:
- Santa
- Elf
- Christmas Tree
- Stocking
- Rudolph
- Present
- Candy Cane
Slide the piece of cardboard underneath the construction paper to keep your push pins from scratching or poking holes in whatever you have under the paper.
Next, grab a couple of push pins and start poking holes!
Have your child push the pin through each black spot on the template while being careful not to make huge holes in the paper.
Have them lightly run their fingers over the paper if they get lost, to feel which holes have been made and which ones still need to be done. Show them that the holes that they have already punched will have a very different feel to them than those that are still untouched.
When they’re done, lightly pull off the tape and let them reveal their Christmas picture.
Not only will they have had a fantastic fine motor workout while making these fun poke pictures, but you’ll have some awesome window decorations when you’re all done!
