If there is one thing that kids can agree on, it’s that bubble baths are fun. Another thing they can agree upon is that reading is hard.
So why not find some middle ground and combine the two?
Getting beginning readers to feel comfortable learning how to read is so important.
Once students master CVC words, they can feel confident in learning to read. CVC words pave the way to learning more phonics skills.
Making Reading Fun
There are so many ways to teach CVC words, but the best way to succeed is to incorporate reading with activities children love.
For some learning to read is a slow and frustrating process, others catch on and just take off.
Thankfully there are resources that make learning to read fun and engaging. Parents and teachers have come up with creative ways to teach phonetical skills.
We are no different. We created a resource that combines the love of bubble baths with an interactive CVC activity.
What are CVC words?
For those who are not familiar with CVC words, they are words made up of a consonant, vowel, consonant. Since the vowel is followed by a consonant the vowel says its name.

Bubble Bath CVC
Screen learning was something I wasn’t sure about in the beginning, but these interactive activities have proven to be very useful in getting students engaged and excited about learning.
Our Bubble Bath CVC digital activity is available on all 3 platforms – Boom Learning, Google Slides, and Seesaw.
Like with all our digital activities simply have students read the CVC word on the bathtub and then with Boom and Google Slides click the bubble with the correct picture. These are both self-checking and will give instant feedback. On Seesaw, students will drag a checkmark to the correct bubble to match the picture to the word.
