If you followed our other site, Homeschooling 4 Free, at all, you probably remember seeing the state study posts each week that together, created our Explore: USA geography curriculum.
At this point, we have made it almost half way through the 50 states and I’ve received so many emails and messages full of positive feedback from those of you that are following and using the curriculum as well as questions regarding whether or not the second half of the states will be added.
The short answer? Yes. The longer answer? Echo and I have decided to dissolve Homeschooling 4 Free due to time constraints on both of our parts. Not to worry though! The geography curriculum as well as all of the other fun homeschooling resources that you came to expect on that site will still be available! From now on though, you’ll be able to find it all right here and we’re getting started this week!
So far, we’ve explored 21 of the 50 states and this week, we’re hitting the road again and heading to number 22. Michigan!
Are your kids interested in learning more about planes? Bridges? Cars? How about their inventors?
Charles Lindbergh and Henry Ford are both making an appearance in this week’s state study and we’ll be spending some time learning to engineer a bridge of our very own.
Maybe boats are more their thing. Introduce them to the state that houses the only floating post office in the world! Or how about the state that houses around 150 lighthouses, more than any other state in the nation.
All of this and more is included in this week’s study and we’re ready to start exploring!
