Five little ducks went out one day…
If you’ve ever spent any time inside a preschool classroom, you probably know just how that sentence ends.
It’s such a fun, yet simple song and its repeating verses make it super easy to remember and absolutely perfect for toddlers and preschoolers!
Once you pair the song itself with a printable set of little duck puppets, it just gets even better!
Making music and singing songs with your children may seem like just another fun activity for you to do together, but in reality, there are so many amazing skills that your little ones can learn through music.
Music and singing in general help your child develop their speech and vocabulary skills while some songs, those that include movements, can also assist them with their coordination skills
The five little ducks song in particular is a great way to also work in some practice on those counting and rhyming skills.
With the printable puppets and song lyrics below, you’ll have everything you need to get your own little ducks playing and singing along.
To assemble these puppets, simply print them off on card stock and laminate for added durability.
Once they’re laminated, you can either hot glue them directly onto a set of Popsicle sticks or, if you prefer, you could hot glue a small circular magnet onto the back of each puppet.
Pair each of those magnets with another and glue the second set of magnets onto the Popsicle sticks. This worked out perfectly for us as it allowed us to use the mama and five little ducks puppets on both the craft sticks as well on the refrigerator and a metal cookie sheet.
However you use them, your kids are sure to have a ton of fun with them!
