Exploring world cultures with your child allows them to build an appreciation for the world itself, the people in it, and the differences between themselves and those with differing traditions.
This not only gives them a much broader view of the world around them, it can also provide them with a great adventure. One that they can embark on by “visiting” other cultures through play.
We started our Around the World adventure by talking about the different types of traditional clothing that can be seen around the world and with that in mind, created a fun new matching game that features children of the world.
We’ve played this game a few times now and it always leads us to new discussions regarding other countries and cultures; everything from the clothing they wear to the types of foods that people in these countries eat.
This game has quickly become a favorite in our house and I hope you enjoy it just as much as we have!
