With the summer season in full swing, it’s the perfect time to introduce your toddler or preschooler to the wonders of the ocean.
Whether you’re planning a full on beach trip for the family or are just enjoying learning about the wonders of the sea from the comfort of your own home, there isn’t a better time to do it.
In our case, we’ve busted out some fun ocean themed crafts and activities to get us in that beach day spirit, and at the oldest’s request, we decided to start with sharks!
This printable counting practice matching game has become an instant hit in our house.
I mean, what kid wouldn’t love feeding bubbles to a shark?!
It really couldn’t be more perfect for these hot summer months and is a great way for your toddler or preschooler to start working on those early math skills!
The game itself requires minimal prep. Just print, cut, and play.
Of course, you can always laminate the included cards for a little extra durability if you’d like, but that is completely optional.
Once your pieces are cut, your child can try to simply match the cards by matching the written numeral to the card with the correct number of bubbles, or if you’re wanting to up the difficulty level just a bit, lay out all of the cards at once, face down, and use them as you would a regular memory game.
However you decide to play, your little ones are going to have a blast feeding the sharks!
