Learning to read, much like any other skill, is something that takes a lot of practice.
For most children, it’s not something that they learn in a single day, but over the course of several months or even years after hundreds of hours of instruction and practice.
From learning the individual letters and then the sounds that they make to blending and simple CVC words, each step in the process takes time, patience, and practice.
Lots and lots of practice.
Fortunately, we’re all about making that practice fun and your little learners are going to have a blast acting like detectives as they figure out this second set of Secret CVC words!
Can you crack the code?
Our first set of secret CVC word cards were so popular that we knew we needed more!
In fact, we had so many people reach out and ask for more that we’re already working on several new sets to add to these.
For now, though, these first two sets should provide you with plenty of words to get started!
Like the first set, this new one includes 16 different CVC word cards. The included CVC words are:
- bad
- dad
- ham
- hem
- leg
- ten
- big
- fin
- lid
- cot
- fog
- pop
- bun
- mud
- run
- sun
As with the first set, you’ll simply print these cards, cut them out, and run them through your laminator so that your child can use them with a dry erase marker.
When they’re ready, set them out and have your child figure out the beginning sound of each of the three included pictures. These beginning sound letters will make up your CVC word once you’ve figured them out.
If you’re just getting started with these, try working on just a few at a time so as not to overwhelm your child and then add more as they master the first few.
Once you feel like they’re comfortable with CVC words in general, try adding multiple sets together.
