Now that the holidays are over and things are starting to get back to normal around here, we’re picking right back up with our alphabet book!
Since our last set of pages created the uppercase J jellyfish, it was time to move on to the lowercase version and we wound up putting together a lowercase J jaguar that is super simple to make and takes only a single sheet of construction paper to make!
Yep, just one sheet construction paper! It doesn’t get much simpler than that!
To make the lowercase letter J craft, you’ll need:
- A sheet of white card stock
- A sheet of orange construction paper
- Googly eyes
Now, I know I said you would only need a single sheet of construction paper and there are two of those in the picture. The black construction paper is completely optional!
If you prefer to use construction paper, go right on ahead. We simply chose to use a black crayon for parts of our jaguar instead 🙂
To get started, you’ll need to get all of your pieces cut out.
From your orange construction paper, you’ll need to cut a letter J, a rounded triangular shape for the head, a tail, two ears, and four paws.
First thing, turn your letter J over so that you’re looking at it backwards and glue on the feet and the tail for your jaguar.
Once the glue has secured those in place, flip it over and glue it onto your card stock.
Add the head and the ears to the top of your letter J to act as the “dot” for the letter.
Of course, at this point your animal is going to need a face, so grab a black crayon and get drawing!
Give your jaguar a nose, a mouth, a few whiskers, oh and don’t forget the eyes!
Finally, just continue on with that black crayon and fill your jaguar up with spots! Some big, some small, let your little one decide 🙂
When you’re all done and waiting for the glue to dry, grab your Do-A-Dot markers and get started on the lowercase J printable page. Add both, the page and the jaguar craft, to your alphabet book when you’re all done and get ready for the next letter!
Don’t feel like waiting for the printable alphabet pages? I will continue to include each printable page in the post of the corresponding letter craft, but if you would like to simply download and print them all at once, you can grab them all (both upper and lowercase) in our shop.
