When it comes to cooking for your family, as a parent, you’re probably all too aware of just how difficult it can be to come up with delicious meals that everyone in the family will actually eat.
So, when you hit on a recipe that everyone devours, it’s a miracle! For our family, that’s exactly what this Baked Cheesy Alfredo Pasta is!
This incredible flavor excursion is just a quick Publix trip away, and with a few simple ingredients, you’ll have a new family favorite that will entice even the pickiest of eaters!
One of the best parts about this dish is that once you finish the prep work, the oven does the rest. It’s not a meal that you’ll have to spend hours watching to make sure that it comes out right. In fact, it would be pretty difficult to mess this up 🙂
And thanks the help of Progresso who keeps finding new ways to deliver quality meals that match the unique needs of individuals and families by delivering premium ingredients for everyday cooking including broths, beans, and bread crumbs, you won’t have to spend your evening trying to convince your family to actually eat the meal that you spent time preparing.
To build this delicious Italian inspired meal, you’ll need to first head to your local Publix to pick up a few ingredients! You’ll need:
- 1 box penne pasta
- 2 boneless skinless chicken breasts
- 1 box Progresso Italian Style Panko Bread Crumbs
- 1/4 cup Progresso Chicken Broth
- 1 bag Kraft Natural Mozzarella Cheese
- 1 jar Alfredo sauce
- 2 tbs. butter
And that’s it!
The first thing you’re going to need to do is cook your chicken. Place your chicken breasts into a skillet with your butter and 1/4 cup of chicken broth and cook on medium low heat until done (cooked all the way through).
While you’re chicken is cooking, start the water for your pasta. Once the water is boiling, toss in your pasta and cook according to the package instructions minus 2 minutes so that it is still slightly undercooked.
Once your pasta is cooked and drained, pour it out into a 9 x 13 inch baking dish. Spread it out to create a single layer along the bottom of the dish. From here, you’ll be building your layers so make sure you leave enough room.
At this point, your chicken should be done. Remove it from the pan and shred it before layering it on top of your pasta.
On top of your chicken, pour out your Alfredo sauce. Try to spread this out into an even layer across your entire pan.
Next up? The cheese of course! It just wouldn’t be a cheesy chicken dish without the cheese!
Pour out your Kraft Mozarella cheese and spread that out into a flat layer on top of the sauce.
Finally, top the entire thing off with your Progresso Panko bread crumbs and you’re ready to pop it in the oven!
Just bake at 350° for 25 minutes and you’re all set! If you’re looking for a slightly more browned and crispy top to your casserole, just stick your pan under the broiler for a minute or two.
Serve with a side salad and your whole family is going to be over the moon for this delicious dinner!
