Although it feels like we just started 2015, the year is quickly coming to an end.
The past 12 months just seemed to fly by and now, in just a few short days, we’ll be ringing in the new year and welcoming 2016.
In honor of the coming year, I wanted to try to create a calendar that my preschooler could keep, along with his alphabet book, as kind of a daily notebook. Something that would allow us to practice learning the calendar while still being fun and engaging.
With this printable calendar coloring book, I think we definitely accomplished that!
In this coloring book, you’ll find 13 pages of fun calendar pages. A title page to color and decorate as your little one wishes and a separate page for each month of the year.
I plan on giving my preschooler a new page at the beginning of each month and spending a little bit of time with him adding in holidays, birthdays, and other special days throughout the year as we go along.
I’m hoping that, in addition to be a fun way to practice those calendar skills, this will help to alleviate some of the anxiety he sometimes feels when a big occasion is coming up.
We’ve found quite a bit of success with this as we have used a calendar for some time to prepare him for any upcoming changes to his routine, but hopefully, having his own calendar on which he can mark the days off on his own will help that much more.
Not to mention the fact that he’ll be able to count down the days to his favorite holidays 🙂
